iPad no longer charges

Up until yesteday afternoon, my ipad 3 would charge while connected to my imac (I use my ipad all day with Noteshelf at work, so for convenince have it attached to my imac to charge).

Anyway, yesterday afternoon, my imac stopped charging the ipad. I've checked the usb slots (at the back of the computer) and none of them work. I've tried the same and different usb cables with mine and other ipads and iphones - seems, iphones charge okay, but not ipads...

iTunes still recognies the ipad though, so its connected, just not drawing power!

Any ideas?

Try a Restart of your Mac...

For the iPad...

Try This...

Close All Open Apps... Perform a Reset... Try again...

Reset ( No Data will be Lost )

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

Cheers for that.

Sadly, no change. The 'charge' sign came up once plugged in, for about a second, before disapearing and displaying the 'not charging' text next to the battery.

Grrr... Down to 43% and I dont have my ipad charger with me (almost in tears - not really, just being dramatic) I may have to get an actual note pad and pen out!
