Q: Don't you find iPad Mini's icons and text too small?

Looks like Apple just scaled down the interface of the regular iPad and shoved it to the iPad Mini without even considering that icons and text would be too small for iPad Mini's small screen.

The screen resolution is exactly the same, just the physical size smaller. So screen size is scaled down, making the interface relatively smaller, although the same number of pixels makes up each icon and text. How else would they fit exactly the same number of icons etc on the home screen?

Have you compared the size of icons on an iPad mini to the size of the icons and text on an iPhone screen, which is even smaller?

No, they're perfectly readable for me.

No, it's not scaled down. It has the same resolution as the iPad2, infact 31 more pixels per inch.

Yes, I know. Apple just scaled down everything--maintaning the same dimension of the regular ipad. In doing so, that significantly reduced the size of icons and the text when the same dimension is transmuted to iPad Mini's much smaller screen.

We cannot also compare the size of the icons of ipad mini with that of the iphone. We tend to hold the iphone closer to our face when using it, unlike ipads.

Then logic dictates you would hold the mini closer than the previous version, but not as close as an iPhone. (Actually, I wouldn't hold a phone any closer than I hold my iPad)

Its a smaller device, what were you expecting (and why?)

It's a smaller device with a smaller screen, therefore you adjust the viewing distance to suit - just as you said you do with an iPhone.

If you need things to be bigger, then a smaller device like the iPad mini (the clue is in the name) is not for you.

I find it readable too, just a tad bit uncomfortable.

I'm sorry but have you seen the iPad mini's (non-retina) screen up close? It's not the best looking screen to be viewed up close.

I do find the graphics a little too small at times. There are times like for example

1> trying to buy a song from itunes (by hitting the buy button) doesnt register.

2> trying to delete text from a text box using the 'x' at the end requires quite a few attempts to register.

I've to be a little more precise with the way I hit on the screen on the ipad mini .

I wish the hit area was a little bigger in these cases.

ios 10 for ipad is making the icons way too small. Very strange why apple did this!

Huge wasted space on an iPad mini... icons AND text are huge on iPhone compared to this!

Every time they do an update they only get it half right. Icon size settings should be the first thing they do!!!

Why is this even an issue? Let people decide how they want their @#$%^&* screens to look!!!

These icons and text (see screen shot I attached) should be at least twice the size with very little space in between... like the iphone!

Why is this even an issue!screen.jpg
