kerning shortcut keys motion 5.0.5 not working

Is anyone else having problems with the kerning shortcut keys since updating to motion 5.0.5?

Control+arrow used to kern text. It still says it does in the manual.

On my system Control+arrow is now making the cursor jump to the end of the text line.

Also, the kerning shortcuts don't work in FCPX 10.0.6 either.

Not being able to quickly adjust kerning is a real killer during a long edit session.

Any one have any ideas? What am I doing wrong. I hope this is just user error.
