- If you can, the restore the iPod from that backup. The restored iPod will not have a screen-lock passcode. All the synced media like apps and music has to be in the iTunes library since synced media is not included in the backup
- If not then connect the iOS device to your computer and restore via iTunes. Place the iPod in Recovery Mode if necessary to allow the restore. Yyu can restore from a backup if one is available.

Nov 9, 2012 10:34 AM in response to lllaassby Queenbammy,we are scared to restore. she doesn't want to lose her stuff. I will read up on backing up, etc. Does it save all the contacts?
What would happen if I locked it from icloud? Would it only ask for the passcode I set there and bypass her passcode? Don't know if I could do this anyway becasue Icloud is not seeing her device. i was going to update to ios 6.0.1 but it said all media content would be deleted and that I should apply the update on my computer but I can't figure out how to do that either!

- The only problem that I can think of is if she did not sync the iPod with here computer after adding the screen-lock passcode, iTunes will ask you to enter the passcode on the iPod before iTunes will see the iPod.
- She can always redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

Nov 9, 2012 11:23 AM in response to lllaassby Queenbammy,I have the ipod connected to the computer and initiated the backup and it was working but it errored out saying it could not be saved to my computer. Don't know why or what to do now.
don't think I'll try to lock it from icloud. I heve been reading other people's posts here about being locked out when they recover the lost/locked ipod. that would have been a perfect solution if it worked.
