New ipad's spam filter?

I'm an old Windows XP user with a brand new $700 iPad. My Comcast Internet service w/ "Windows Live Mail" on my PCs allow me to mark any message as "Junk" so that all future messages from the same sender automatically go into my "Junk" mailbox.

I can't find out how to do this with the iPad's mail App. I've read about using "iCloud" but it requiresWindows 7, and I don't need to sync my iPad with any other devices -- I don't even want to!

Is there a more feature-rich Mail App I can download for the iPad that will include a "Spam" or "Junk" folder? Comcast mail servers obviously know which mailboxes to send messages to on my PCs. Thanks all.

iOS does not have an built-in spam filters, nor does any email app I know of allow you to set the spam filter in your account on Comcast's servers. Not even Comcast's own app has that ability. I also know of no third-part mail app that has antispam built in, though perhaps someone else here will know of one. If not, you'll have to log into your Comcast email account using a web browser and set the "junk" setting there.

Thanks much for the fast response. I guess I understand.

I do have "Spam Filtering" turned on at Comcast's E-Mail Preferences, so any message received that I mark as "add sender to blocked senders list" (in Windows Live Mail program) goes directly to my "Junk" Mailbox in the future. Do you mean to say the iPad's iOS 6.0.1 Mail App doesn't also do this?

Spam filtering seems a basic necessity nowadays. How could such a feature not be available? I'm only in the wonderful Microsoft Windows' world of computing, know nothing about Macs.

Oh well, there are other iPad quirks I find too. Seems an icon on the top "task bar" (with several presets) to tap for instantly changing screen brightness would be very useful. Instead, it takes two screen swipes, then sliding the brightness control, then another swipe. I haven't found a good App to do this either, although "QBright" is good enough to use.

Oh well, thanks again for the help.

Again, the Mail app has no spam filtering of any sort.

No idea. All any of us can say is "because Apple hasn't included it".

This has nothing to do with a Mac. The Mail application in Mac OS X has spam filtering. iOS is completely different.
