Pogo player fearful of Java Secy. Update

I have iMac 10.7.5 Lion, 2.5GHz,intelcorei5 4GBRAM. I play POGO games online all the time, which is JAVA. I've read the recent Java Security Update which seems to this will uninstall JAVA from my iMac and in order to play POGO games or use any JAVA related stuff I would have to download from Oracle.

Before touching this, I've waited to see what issues might come along that will make me crazy if I do this security update.

There seems to be great confusion. Since I am a paid member of POGO, if I cannot play their games because I uninstalled JAVA and then the Oracle download creates problems in opening games , crashing, or whatever, I wonder if I should wait until someone actually knows what they are doing? Apple people have enough difficulty trying to play online games as it is. I'd like someone who is a player and has been through this with POGO after doing the Java Secy. Update to give the the real score. Thanks.

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
