At one time I was under the impression I could broadcast my iPAD YouTube videos to my Apple TV. At this point I can't seem to find the ICON for the Apple TV on my YouTube screens. Am I out in left field?

Kind of a catch 22 here. To beable to do mirroring you have to have the newest 6.0 version of iOS which removed the YouTube app. You can view your desktop or content from your iPad on your ATV IF you have the newest ATV, the right firmware on your iPad, have enabled it on both devices and configured it on the iPad.
