Not what I suggested.

Just make a new book - don't use any of your existing contents, etc.....type and then select a small amount of text, then enable that font. This should take less than five minutes.

Does it work there or not?

All installed/modern fonts are now supported, but I want you to see that for yourself in a simple test. If that test fails, we'll move to finding out why.

Tks for that the font is enabled and shows in ipad etc however I get the error message when converting file to ibook that times new roman is not supported by iOS, I must be missing something here! Does this mean I need copyright permission to use the font as it shows in ipad ok, I am not sure what the error message means, it might be clear for you but I am not getting it. I have previously published a lot of books with times new roman and to date not had the problem.

I have a similiar problem, sort of...

I created a book. All looks great. But when I export it, I get the same Times New Roman error as above. The problem is, as far as I know, I did not use Times New Roman - anywhere... unless it's snuck in somewhere. How am I to track this down? This is an extremely elaborate book, so I don't want to redo it. I've done other books without this problem, so it's something in this book.

Here's another question. When I generate the iBooks file, the error warning box pops up and says "iOS does not support the font "Times Roman." There is a drop down box at the lower left side of the warning box that says "replace font." That option, however is greyed out (even if you click on the warning.) So it seems that IF they wanted me to replace a font, that option wouldn't be greyed out. It's just frustrating because I'd like to get this book to market. Will it be rejected when I upload because of this? How am I supposed to find the error when I didn't use this font to begin with?

FOUND IT!

Wow... that was ardurous! When I went to make the sample file that only contained a few pages, I realized I had an opportunity to track down the rogue text by deleting one page at a time until the warning went away. I did that. And I found the Times New Roman text was an obsucre caption unlike any other in the book. Fixed that and the warning is gone. So if anyone else ends up with this problem, use a duplicate file and delete one chapter at a time from the end to the beginning until the error goes away. Then back track to the last previous page and you may be able to locate the rogue font.
