Nov 9, 2012 9:52 PM in response to msgialby den.thed,HDMI only supports 24" monitor resolutions up to 1920-by-1200.
For a 2010 or later Mac Mini, you can use a > Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter

Nov 10, 2012 7:06 AM in response to den.thedby msgial,So I have tried mini display adapter to vga.
1) Still not sharp with regard to text etc as when PC plugged into it.
2) The picture does not fit the whole screen and leaves about an inch of black each side. It is set correctly to its optimal mode: 1920x1080 at 60Hz

Nov 10, 2012 11:16 AM in response to den.thedby msgial,Many thanks for your reply. No the 1080p wasn't an option as I was trying also to do that and overscan. But even so the quality of the image was still poor. Plus it seems a backward step to go back to analogue vga.
I have now taken the samsung monitor back to get my money back before it is too late as I sense at present it is not compatible with the new mac mini. The chap in the shop reported whilst the older mac mini was not providing problems with monitors, the new mac mini (2012) was. It would be nice to know which monitors are comaptible.

Nov 11, 2012 4:52 AM in response to msgialby msgial,OK. So I have now tried LG 27 Inch E2742 Monitor as follows:
1) Mini display to DVI-D : Picture good with decent text resolution
2) HDMI-HDMI: Picture poor with poor colour and text resolution. This is not a calibration issue.
The samsung monitor 27 inch series 3 also has poor picture and colour and text resolution with HDMI-HDMI. Again this is not a calibration issue. It does not have a DVI-D input to test the minidisplay port.
So it seems the HDMI port is not working properly but the minidisplay one is ok as I suspected.
From reading the other threads it seems this is a common problem including those people that have taken their minis back for an exchange and experienced same problem.
Is there likely to be a software update to resolve this?

Nov 11, 2012 7:13 AM in response to msgialby den.thed,Sadly folks should not have to jump thru hoops to use a 27" monitor...
What a pain for those that want to use large or dual monitors with there new Mac Mini's. I'm glad to hear that you found a solution, thanks for reporting back.
Another good question... I suspect that they are working on either a graphic's update or a way to clean the egg off their face as we speek.
