Wifi problem after update

Updated the iPad2 -all went fine.  It did prompt me that there was a carrier update - but since power was low I didn't update this.  Anyway since then I have had wifi problems - iPad has trouble picking up the signal - and while it will work it loses the signal very quickly.  Have tried all the usual things - hard reboot, tuning the wifi on and off etc

 

I don't know if the carrier update would make any difference - any ideas on how I could access the update again?

 

Any other suggestion?  I did a bit of research and it seems wifi problems after the update are not uncommon.
