Do Cmd+Shift+g at Finder and paste this path into "Go To The Folder":

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Profiles/Recommended/

then right click on the file named "HD 709-A.icc", then chose Get Info (command I). Click on the lock at bottom right and enter the password to give Finder permission for change.

You can then grant permission to Repair this file in one of three ways: - temporarily change Sharing and Permission of the file for "Everyone" to Read & Write. You MUST remeber to go back at the end and change this back if you choose this method so you are not left exposed.

Or I just added myself to the users list by pressing the plus ➕ button at bottom left and selecting myself from the list of users. The first time I did something similiar I had to select myself from the large list on the left drawn from address book. My username is now always displayed right under Adminstrators and this is the way I feel most comfortable.

You can also choose, Admistrators. Whichever, you then change Read Only to Read&Write.

Don't close the File Info floating menu yet; Do the same to the file in this path "/System/Library/CoreServices/Resources/Profiles/SD 170M-A.icc"

Now launch ColorSync Utility (from Apps, Utilities), click on Profile First Aid, then chose Repair button at the lower right cornel of the menu… and you should be fixed.

If you changed permissions for "everyone" on the files, change them back to Read only, and you're done. If you selected Admins or yourself it's up to you. I prefer to add myself and leave them open so I don't get shut out again and have to remember how to correct the error manually.

My understanding is that Disk Utility should fix this type of error, but clearly it doesn't always which I think points to an outside app or malware.

I had this same issue today and my files show they are from 2010 (on a 2011 MBP).

I'm curious if the two of you see the same thing or if mine are from my old computer?

Hope this helps, it solved my problem...
