Ipod Touch 5 color peel-off problem

bought a Blue Itouch 5 about a week ago

Yesterday found a spot of paint peel off...

barely used it as it is a gift to my girlfriend, so only take it out for basic set up

I'm not sure it was there at the beginning or it's my fault...

but if that's my fault... my argument is that it would never be expected that the color would start peeling off within a week....

very upset about this.....

you guys think this should be covered by the warrenty? is there any chance i can replace it with a new one?

iPod touch, iOS 6.0.1, blue, bought within a week

You may contact Apple Support to see your options, probably the warranty will cover this.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store and find out. Cosmetic damage is not covered by the warranty.

i dont think it would be covered by warrenty. Also your girlfriend should be super thankful that you even got her a new ipod 5! And if it really bothers you get her a case to cover the color ware

Of course this should be covered by the warranty. This is not cosmetic damage like a scratch or a dent. This is a paint failure, like peeling paint on a new car. Take it to the Apple store. They should give you a new one.
