When I import a clip (Apple Pro Res HD 1280x720, 25p) into FCPX I do not have a correct aspect ration. The image is a 4/3 ratio into 16/9 ratio.
I have not this problem in FCP7, all aspect ratio are correct.
Have you an idea how to edit this correctly into FCPX?

Is that the clip in the browser or in the timeline?
In the browser directly after the import.
Have you tried resizing the window? The black area looks much wider than 16:9, while the picture portion is certainly not 4:3.
Unfortunatly this does not help.
Open the file in the QT player and report what it says in the movie inspector.

And what do you see in the QT player? I don't know why the FCP browser window is so narrow.
The aspect in QT7 is ok but when I open the same file with QTX it looks like in FCPX... :-/

Neither looks right. Why is there pillarboxing on the image? 720p HD should never show pillarboxing. It looks like its 16:9 with an anamorphic flag set, which should never be the case with 720p media.
I don't know how you arrived at the video you have. How was it made?
It's the result of a Super 8 film transfert made by a professional company. This is why there are pillar box.
Look at the actual size of QTX image. It looks as if it's been made into HD with an anamorphic flag set. The QT version is coming out as 1280x480.
If you have the QT7 Pro player open the movie properties and see what's going on in the visual settings tab.
There is no anamorphic flag as such in a QuickTime file but there is a pixel aspect ratio parameter. The only app I know of that can adjust this is QT Edit:

I open my file with QT Edit and in Quick Tasks select Pixel Aspect Ratio to square pixels.
Now my files have a correct aspect ratio in FCPX and I can move forward to edit it.
Have somebody a free alternative to QT Edit?
