iOS 6 GB & amplitube problems

I know other people have commented on the problems they've experienced with garageband on iOS 6 when using irig. I have the same issue with the app now rendered unusable due to the hideous amounts of feedback when using irig and a guitar.

However, unlike other people here I also have the same problem with amplitube (I'm running the free app but with the slash models purchased).

So...it makes me wonder if its actually an app issue, as some have commented or if it is just down to iOS 6 being...well.....pants.

Am I to take it that there is STILL no word from apple in fixing this? Has anyone else out there had any answers yet?
