iPad Mini Safari scrolling problem

Hi,


I just bought the iPad Mini yesterday, and I've noticed some strange behaviour in Safari while scrolling.

Here are two examples:


1) Safari behaves normally when scrolling to the top of the page ("bouncing" it back), doesn't do the same when scrolling to the bottom:

2) When scrolling in a zoomed-in page, Safari places the vertical scrollbar properly, but the horizontal scrollbar randomly in the middle of the page, disturbing reading:

It's a 16GB WiFi Only White iPad Mini running iOS 6.0.1.

Hi Amir-

I am having the same issue. Went to the Apple Store in Boston and the Genius Bar escalated the problem to the Engineers and they could not even solve it. They needed me to send them an image of the issue. I went to another Apple store and the Genius there had much better problem solving skills. He used his own critical thinking and discovered that the horizontal scroll bar sits at the same height. The height is exactly where the split keyboard ends. If you take screen shots and compare...you will find they are all at the same height. He thinks since the keyboard is a new feature they havent worked out the problems yet...and we will have to wait for the update.


Ever since Steve Jobs has been gone the call to response for issues is getting increasing slower and slower. New products continue to roll out but they all have problems and bugs. Take Maps for instance...they still have not fixed all the issues (even with this 6.0.1 update). The Ipad mini I spend 700$ for and it is such a faulty product. For what I spent I would have thought I would have gotten a great product. I have all Apple products...phone, desktop, laptop, Ipad original, and Mini...but they have done me wrong over and over. It may take months for them to roll out the fix the way the compnay has been operating under Cook.


When will the fix come....I do not know... best of luck!

Now that you mention it, it makes a lot of sense.

Since then, I've noticed a lot more keyboard-related bugs all over my ipad mini. Both in Apple's own apps (such as Reminders and Notes, Messages), and external apps (such as Facebook).

The keyboard in the iPad Mini is really bad, a lot of the times hiding the text itself while I'm typing it.

I really hope an update will come soon the fix all of this, cause it's really annoying, especially after paying so much for a prestige product.

I was dealing with this same issue an my iPad Mini. Here's what I did yesterday and I haven't seen the problem since:


1) Go to Settings >> Safari


2) Turn on Private Browsing


3) Clear Cookies & Data


I cannot guarantee this will always solve the problem, but it has worked for me.


Let me know if that works for anyone else :)


P.S. I'm a developer myself and I would give the software developers a little slack. Programming is more crazy than people think. Most likely they expected the iPad Mini to work exactly like the full-size iPad, but bugs always pop up. It will get fixed :) Chrome is always an alternative if Safari is struggling.

My iPad mini was originally purchased last December, 2012 from online Apple store and this has been my third replacement iPad mini with the same problem. When zooming in, a horizontal line appears upon scrolling and it is very irritating. We have iPad 2 in our household and we've never had this issue. I went to a local store in Las Vegas and the "Genius" couldn't give me a straightforward answer other than wait for their engineers to fix the problem. I will be escalating this problem until it gets resolved as they are selling a product to the end-users with a defective program.


If anyone out there had this problem resolved, please get in touch with me and I will do the same.

I've got the same problem here in Hong Kong, I just bought this iPad mini 32GB Cellular on 6/1/2013, and today I go to the genius bar, and they changed two ipad for me, but unfortunately same problem appears as well! So annoying!
