Facetime on MacAir does not work.

I have Facetime on my ipod touch that works well. I recently purchased Facetime for my MacAir but it does not work although it looks like it should. I call my contacts and they call me but we can never connect. Please help!

MacBook Air, iOS 3.1

The majority of the time when Facetime can't connect, it's not the notebook but network configuration. Often, over agressive firewalls.
