Q: Scrivener

Fed up with Word, trying to start up with Scrivener. Anyone have sources for learning it, other than the videos with the software and on the site?

    Hello Miles,

The best way to learn Scrivener is by working your way through the embedded interactive tutorial (Help > Interactive Tutorial). This gives a brief overview of the application, introducing many of the features and workflows available. As you've already mentioned the videos, other resources can be found here http://www.literatureandlatte.com/blog/?p=215. The online course offered by Gwen Hernandez has consistently received rave reviews. I trust that helps for now.

Thank you for giving Scrivener a go, and I hope you ultimately enjoy and benefit from using the application.

    All the best,

    David

It is a difficult program to learn because it is so complicated, but I have found that the Literature & Latte e-mail help service is VERY GOOD. Just word your questions simply and attach a screen showing your problem and you will hear back within a day or two.

Don't bother with all the bells and whistles at the outset.

    Good luck.
