Can you supply the details of your hardware and what OS version?
"IF" your hardware is up to "real world" specs (which are not Apple's minimum specs) there are two things to try.
Get "Preference Manager" free from Digial Rebellion (dot com) to quickly, properly, and safely trash Motion's' pref files.
If that doesn't help, move the Motion application from the Applications folder to the Trash, launch the App Store, Purchased tab, click "Install" for Motion.

What graphics card are you running?
Are there any other issues with your Mac Pro at all?
Happy to see you again. First I must say that last february I was in Louisiana with my wife in RV camper and we have spoken to a few cajun and they were so happy to speak french.
OK lets come back to my problem.

The machine is a Mac Pro early 2009
No problem at all. FCPX 10.0.6 work perfectly well and I came back to Motion 5.0.4 that work perfectly too.
Also I have a Macbook Pro on wich I have the same Applications but on Macbook Pro, Motion 5.0.5 work perfectly.
Strange no?

I'd move Motion from the Applications folder to the Trash.
Launch the App Store, go to the Purchased tab, click the "Install" button for Motion.
Be sure you have the latest OS version, and FCP is up to 10.0.6 and Motion is up to 5.0.5.
Do you have any third party plug-ins installed for Motion at all?
I did what you say here more than once. Always the same crash.
Concerning the third party plug-ins I have have the CSV morphing effect. Anyway it never worked. Do you think that putting it in the trash could resolve the problem? Maybe, I dont have it on my Macbook Pro.
Can you post the actual crash log, someone might be able to determine the issue by looking at it.
