I want to work on 1 numbers doc and have it linked to another numbers doc.

When I have finished on the first can I open the second and it update certain cell linked to the first.

Don't want them in the same doc.

No. Numbers cannot reference cells in another document. The best option is to place the data in different sheets of the same doc, or, if that is not acceptable, use MS Excel, LibreOffice or other office clone.

Hi Wayne,

One of the reasons I ask is I have a numbers doc, only about 2mb which I can open and update on my iMac running OSX Lion but when I try and open it on my iBook (white) OSX snow leopard I get an error saying document too large and won't.

I was hoping to split the doc to help.

Is this just a snow leopard thing as I can't upgrade my white iBook any further....
