Q: can't find my installation files for upgrade says unavailable network - help

I can't install any upgrades. It tells me it cannot locate the installation package and then says it lives on an unavailable network so I now can't use my iPod as far as syncing. Does anybody have a solution for this. Crazy is a short trip and I'm almost there!

    Which particular .msi file does the message go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

    I believe it said iTunes64.msi

    Many thanks.

     

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the /___sbsstatic___/migration-images/202/20254872-1.gif "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)

     

    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.

     

    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Forgot to thank you so I do that now. I couldn't get this particular CleanUp to work right but it led me to Microsoft FixIt which seems to have cured what ails me. Thanks again.

    Me too.  Microsoft FixIt Worked. Glad to see the post about how long.  I kept an eye on it for a while then after an hour went to work and when I got home it said it was fixed and loaded no errors.  It looked like it was stalled out, but since I saw the other posts of it taking hours, assumed it was running. 

     

    Thanks!!!  Mine hasn't been able to update my equipment for 6 months.  Yahoo - welcome Siri to my Ipad!
