So we know it's not an issue with the iPod or with the cable. Are all the drivers, firmware, chipsets, and BIOS up
to date on the PC? To check, you'll have to visit the laptop's manufacturer's support site. You'll need to know the
make and model of the laptop to get to the appropriate downloads page.
Was the iPod ever able to successfully connect with this laptop without causing the BSOD?

Sorry for the delay in replying. I have now updated all drivers etc to no avail. The laptop still continues to crash when ipod is connected. Sometimes it crashes immediately others after five to ten minutes.
The ipod has been sucessfully connected in the past.
The laptop is a Lenvo ThinkPad T410
Does the laptop ever blue screen when the iPod isn't connected?
What does the message on the blue screen say exactly?
Any other USB devices connected or ever installed on the ThinkPad?
