Q: Is there any way I can save voicemail messages from my inactivated iPhone?

I bought a new iPhone and noticed pretty quickly that none of my voicemails from my old iPhone were backed up to my new phone. Is there any way to do this? I am selling my old phone and need to clear it, but do not want to throw away all of the voicemails. Any advice?

Sync them to your computer with iTunes by selecting "Include Voice Memos" on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  iTunes will create a Voice Memos playlist on the left side  that will contain your voice memos.

Disregard my last post.  I see you are talking about voicemail, not voice memos.  If you want to save voicemail, if they are still on your phone you can use 3rd party software to do this, such as PhoneView (mac only) and Touch Copy (pc or mac).  Your may also be able to downlod them from your carrier's website.

    Shaun,

Recently I got an iPhone 5 and when I activated it, I lost all of my voicemails from my previouse phone.  With Verizon (I'm not sure about other carrier's), they were able to provide me with a phone number where I could access my old messages.  I then used a website www.SaveMyVM.com to make permanemnt MP3 backups of them.

I believe the messages only remain on Verizon's system for a few days after activating a new phone, so time I would give them a call as soon as possible.

    Hope this helps,
