Your MacBook Pro has got a 64-bit processor, so use a 64-bit edition. It will use all the RAM supported on your computer and Windows will be faster than the 32-bit version

Poor telephonedude98 we hijacked his thread, I wish you the best of luck with the bootcamp installation.

Feel free to return to the discussion forums if you have any issues trying to setup it all up.

don't forget to make a backup before you start and I also recommend you download the support files separately for further reference and also because it will be alot faster than downloading via the bootcamp assistant tool.

I thought I had to use BootCamp Assistant...?

well that's what the Apple guy told me.

You will be using Boot Camp Assistant although you don't 'HAVE' too but your technical knowledge has to be alot higher to do so without.

Here is a screen shot of the bootcamp assistant, do you notice the second check box where it has an option to download the latest Windows support software from Apple. You can check the box or download the files seperately

so basically what i need to check off is "Creat a windows 7...." and "Downloda the latest...."?

You got it 🙂

The install windows option helps you resize your partition and create a addtional one for windows and will automaticcally set you machine to boot form the USB when you reboot, which will start the installation process etc etc.

So after you have created said usb, downloaded the support files manually, copied them onto your USB or put them somewhere you can remember. You can come back to this tool later and select install and it will help you thru those steps if you dont know how to do it yourself with disk utility

ok so i successfully downloaded windows 7, but the resolution is unusually weird.

i went to control panel and tried to change it.

Right now, it's on 800 * 600, and if i try to change it to the highest resoultion, more than 3/4 of the screen is just empty.

Is this because of retina display? or is something wrong....

I hope everyone gets what I am talking about
