How to stop searching for a disconnected NAS server

My NAS died sometime back but I have not been able to figure out how to get my iMac to stop looking for it on login. I have removed all items from the Login options in System Preferences as well as cleared the "connect to server" under Go in Finder. I have also cleared all recent servers list but still I get the pop up trying to find the NAS. Not sure where to go from here. Some help would be much appreciated.
