Just bought two iphone 5s (for my wife and I) but I can't get it to work with old itunes 10.6.3 and old imac Power PC G5.

Any ideas without having to buy a new computer?

Correct, iPhone 5 requires iTunes 10.7, which cannot run on a Power PC.

So, if you're in the U.S., try visiting an Apple Store and let them assist you there.

Thanks, I'm in Australia but there's an Apple store nearby. I'll see if they can help there.

There's nothing really wrong with the old computer except for this issue so I'll see if there's another solution.

    Thank you.

Once they set you (both) up at the Apple Store, you should not have to use iTunes again.  You can simply do your backups and data sharing in iCloud, and do your iPhone software updates over the air.

    So you should be fine.

Enjoy your new iPhones!  They're terrific devices.

    Thanks sberman,

I was able to get all of our old apps, contacts etc from our old phones through iCloud.

All going well for now without iTunes.
