iPod 4th generation cannot be charged fully

Hi,

Recently when i charge my iPod 4the generation, i have been recieving temperature warnings but my iPod is not hot. I purchased my iPod back in 2010. And furthermore, it cannot be fully charged. The top right notification bar shows that the ipod is charged, but the screen saver only shows 80%. When i unplug the ipod, after charging it for about 4hours, it still shows only 80% batttery. My iPod battery drains very fast now that this problem has occurred. What happened and what should i do?

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
