Hi, I bought an iphone5 from the uk to use in Egypt, but when I had a SIM card from Vodafone in egypt inserted it say that the sim is not compatible. What can I do to sort this out?

If the iPhone was not purchased from an Apple retail store in the UK, the iPhone was not purchased as unlocked.
If purchased at an Apple retail store in the UK, did you specify you wanted an unlocked iPhone and is this included on your receipt?
If you did not purchase an unlocked iPhone, only the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked with can officially unlock the iPhone.
