Floating object as default in Pages?

I'm currently working on a template of which I will distribute to the teachers of my school for this year's yearbook. And I was wondering, if there is an option that allows objects to be set to the 'floating' option once inserted into the document? It's simply annoying to have to select it and then change the setting again especially when working in fullscreen where the toolbar takes an extra step to access. It would make my life much happier thanks for the advise : )
