Problems with video tearing on my imac

I have a 21.5 inch imac (mid 2011 model) 4 gb memory with amd radeon hd 675om(512 mb) Lion OSX.

I'm very disappointed it has problems with tearing on the display, with invisible horizontal lines occurring whenever I'm watching videos , using iphoto and or even browing the web. Is this an known issue as its very annoying? Any suggestions or ideas for fixing this problem would be gratefully received ?

Hmmm, nobody answered yet?

See if the Disk is issuing any S.M.A.R.T errors in Disk Utility...

Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?

How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

In the Memory tab of Activity Monitor, are there a lot of Pageouts?
