I have a ipod suffle 2g. but whenever i connect with usb 3.0 of my new laptop, itunes does recognize my ipod, But I found that it does not charge. Is this the issue with ipod or is it not compactible with usb 3.0 of my laptop. I ahve itunes 10.7 installed and have OS windows 7. Could anyone help me out...

It should still charge. I'm not sure why it wouldn't. Does it charge when you plug it into a USB 2.0 port?

Hmmmm. That is very unusual. Do you have more than 1 USB 3.0 to test the iPod Shuffle with?

Is there a reason you marked your response above as solved? USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0, so I'm not sure what's going on exactly. It would be nice to know if charged via a USB 3.0 port another PC or Mac.

I have clicked it by mistake. Still now I have not tried on other laptop. I dont think ther is any problem with usb port.

There is no computability issue. As I said above, USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with USB 2.0.

Same problem. ipod shuffle 2 will not charge in any of 4 usb 3 ports on new Toshiba laptop, but recognised by itunes and syncs. Plug inot old laptop usb 2 port and charges fine. ??
