unwanted accents driving me nuts
I have a 15" MacBook Pro Retina with an international English keyboard. I live in The Netherlands, but have language preferences set to English and Region set to Netherlands (English).
My problem is that when typing accents like ", ', ˜, ˆ and ` they turn up yellowish as dead-keys in preparation for being combined with the next letter to become an accented letter. This is not what I want and it's driving me nuts... since I do a lot of typing in LaTeX documents that use their own code to produce accented letters if I need them (and I don't need them very often).
Of course, I should have ordered my MBPr with a US keyboard with the tilde/backquote key in the top left corner of the keyboard, but now that I'm stuck with this international English keyboard, is there a way of turning the automatic accent feature off?
