I just upgrade my mac book from OSX 10.5.8 to 10.6.8. Suddenly my Office 2008 is not working. I have tried reinstalling word and it did not work either. I went into App store and it will not let me download Pages since I do not have 10.7. I need a workprocessor for work. Any thoughts? Office 2008 works on 2 other computers in my house on 10.6.8(also recently updated) and 10.7.

Try opening word, under help click update. For Pages, go to Apple support, and search your update, it might not be supported any longer. Also try posting this in the 10.5.X page

What for? The OP is running 10.6.8 as clearly stated.
Thanks - I did reach out to Support. I had to reinstall word (3rd try) and download several updates including and SP2 update from Microsoft. I finally did get it to work after several tries.

Run Console.app and show us any new errors it posts when you try to start Word.
