I have an iPhone 5 SPRINT US bought from ebay reseller. The phone was mentioned contract free therefore i asked the seller to ship to Malaysia. Now im unable to use local telco sim and cant even do anything with the phone. Can any1 advice me how to unlock the phone to use it in Malaysia. The seller told me he does not have an account with SPRINT. Please help. Thanks
The GSM portion of the iPhone 5 with Sprint should be unlocked without having to do anything special after the iPhone is activated with Sprint, but I believe in order for the GSM portion to be unlocked requires the iPhone being activated with Sprint first.
The only one that can unlock your phone is sprint if thats who its locked to, only the carrier can unlock it...
Im a malaysian citizen and not possible to have an account with SPRINT. Is it possible to call Sprint customer service and explain the situation? Will they able to unlock my phone? Any1 had close contact with sprint this issues before? Help
I would call sprint and explain this to them, and pray they help you..

I would return the iPhone to the seller and get your money back.
You can certainly contact them and see what they say but I'm not sure it will help.
I agree, but doesnt hurt to try before doing what you said, which is probably the end result.
@Allan: Ive already opened a dispute with the seller, but ebay team have rejected my dispute saying, its my fault. Im out of help now. Ive tried to an unlock service but they mention to me, unable to unlock.

The problem you will probably run into is you will have to come to the US and use Sprints network in order to unlock the GSM side assuming they will allow that.
Im in a dilemma now. Oh god..
End of the day, worst case is you buy a new phone from where you live.
Sell the one you bought on eBay to a Sprint user in the US.
Yup i guess that is my last resort... this is the "Lesson of the Year" for me... 😢
