Battery Usage

I have my MacBook Pro plugged into an outlet in my home...it has been like this for a week now....the battery usage indicates 98%...why is it not 100%?

Depends on the battery manufacturer. I have a 5 year old SMP battery which is still going strong. If you do a research within this forum area, you will get varying statements regarding the life of a Macbook Pro battery. Most say the average life span is 5 years.
