How do I stop iTunes 10.6.3 from trying to sync an iphone 5

I have an iMac running OSX 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.6.3; I also have a new MacBook with a retina display and an iPhone 5. My problem is that the iMac keeps on trying to sync the iphone over wifi, and I keep getting a popup with a message that the iphone requires iTunes 10.7 (which won't run on 10.5.8). My iphone won't sync with the MacBook until I address the popup on the iMac. I have no intention of updating the software on the iMac, and I can't figure out how to get the iMac to just ignore the iphone and let the iphone sync with the Macbook. Any help?

I use an older computer that doesn't do syncing with new gadgets so I can't check but it would surprise me if there wasn't some way to turn off wireless syncing. Check:

Limnos, all I can say is that I'm surprised there isn't anything more obvious. Maybe I'm missing something, but if I try to work from the iTunes side, iTunes will never actually recognize the iPhone - I just get the message saying to load iTunes 10.7. Since it won't load the iPhone, I can't get to the screen where I could turn off wifi syncing for the phone. If I try to work from the iPhone side, I can't find a screen where I can specify that I want it to sync to the notebook, but not to the iMac.
