Volume is not working properly

Volume is not working. When listen to music. Can't even see on the screen the button to control the volume

Have you tried http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

Sometimes it happens. If not try a reset. Hold down POWER + HOME for 10 sec until the logo appears.
