HI,

Are you showing in their Buddy Lists ?

iChat 6 can have 4 types of Buddy Lists.

AIM, Jabber and Yahoo and then Bonjour.

The Bonjour one cannot Add Buddies.

It gets populated from the other Macs on the LAN that have iChat with the Bonjour account Enabled.

Your iChat takes your "Real Name" from your Address Book and broadcasts this as your Buddy Name.

I would start by checking that your Address Book has Details in the My Card (Head and Shoulders icon).

It should have of course your First Name, Last Name details at least.

I actually have the My Cards on my three Computers slightly different so that I can tell which is which in the Buddy lists.

I could see a situation where a My card was Blank.

HI,

The Buddy list are populated using port 5353

This is the same port that makes the Computers show upon in each others Shares in the Finder Side bar.

It tends to be open to local traffic in most routers.

IMs are sent on either port 5297 or 5298.

The reason I don't actually know which is because I have never set my Port and IP address checked (Little Snitch) to monitor Local traffic.

On the basis that AIM Login used to use port 5190 on both TCP and UDP for Logins and then File Sharing it is more likely to be port 5298 (As this needs TCP and UDP)

I would check that Local traffic is allowed To your computer through any Router and is allowed in the Firewall

Sending out tends to make holes in any firewall.
