ios6 iphone bluetooth problem

I haven't upgraded to ios6 because of the problem my boyfriend is having after having upgraded. We both like the magnavox bluetooth headset, but his phone will no longer pair with it. We tried with my phone with the old ios and it paired just fine. Any ideas if there's a workaround or....
