So far I love the garageband ap. I have been watching a tutorial on how to use it and the instructor shows the ap with a "puzzle piece" in the upper left hand corner under "my songs"
I don't seem to have this puzzle piece. Did I hide it by mistake? How do I get it back?

That's an older version of GB for ios. That "puzzle piece" was the icon to open the Song Section controls. That icon is now the plus sign that is located at the end of the timeline (just below the question mark icon).
