Messages does not save some Google Talk chats

In the Messages app, I have the option checked to save conversations when the window is closed. Sometimes, Google Talk messages are not saved and I can actually see some older messages within the conversation "disappear" as new messages are sent. Does anyone else experience this? Thanks.
