Will the lightning to 30-pin adapter work with my 2008 Volkswagen Jetta?

I have a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta that came with an iPod Adapter in the center console. Has anyone recently tried using the lightning to 30-pin adapter with one if they have one? Even if it isn't a VW Jetta? Maybe something older or 2009? I want this and I am getting the iPhone 5 soon, but I don't exactly want to spend the $39.00 to see if this would work. Anyone have any experience or at least know if it would work?

If it does, where are the controls used from; the iPhone or the stereo system in the car still?

Yes it works. Source: friend's car is a 2008 Jetta.

Did they say how the controls are? Better yet, where they are from? Car stereo or iPhone?

Car stereo & iPhone. Both. He was complaining about how much the adapter cost.

From both? Interesting. I like that though. I am looking for the controls to be on the iPhone rather than the stereo as it ***** finding songs this way. And yeah, $39.00 is a lot for this, and it is only roughly 8" long. Oh well, I will need it, so I will have to buy it. Thanks for the message back!

I accidentally clicked it solve my question.... although I am still looking to know if it plays with the controls to choose songs through the stereo or iPhone. (Plus, I chose the wrong person who solved this for me -___-)
