iPhone 5 and kindle unable to connect via wifi after time capsule replacement

I just replaced my 2009 TC with an identical model courtesy of Apple after my original died after three years. I am able to set up my wifi as before and connect with my desktop and laptop as before but my iphone 5 (6.01) and Kindle fire will not connect via wifi even though there is a wifi signal showing in both. Airport utility in iPhone shows the globe icon as yellow and 'disconnected' and my Kindle Fire shows a wifi signal with a small 'x' at the bottom. I believe the problem is in my time capsule but not sure where or what. (Done all the rebooting

Reset the TC.

Give the wireless a proper SMB compatible name.. ie short, no spaces, pure alphanumeric

Use wpa2 personal security with password of 8-12 characters.. pure alphanumeric.

Fix the wireless channels for 2.4ghz in particular. Pick 6, 11 and then 1.. try in that order.. most people find 1 doesn't work so well.. perhaps shared by bluetooth.
