In the dark,I can see the little dot next to the speaker visible with my iphone 5. I had iphone 4 befor. but that didn't has that problem.Is that normal?

This could be the infrared proximity sensor glowing, it can do this when there is power surging abnormally in iPhone. Or it could be LCD light shining through the sensor port, which is more likely. If this bothers you, make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for evalution.
Just put two iPhone 5 black and a white through a small test, in dark room and lighted room, with screen all the way up and dim, also with Proximity functioning during call, and could not see the red light with naked eye, could see it with non-iPhone 5 camera however. If you see this with naked eye, take to Apple for evaluation.
Thanks for you answer! So that is abnormal? I just fell uncomfortable. the brand new iphone 5 has a problem like that.if that is a problem I might just go back to at&t retail store to repalce it.
Yes, abnormal, hopefully you can reproduce this at Apple Store to show them.
