importing contacts from iMac

Hi.

I bought a new iPhone 4S after losing one. I connected it to my iMac at home, but the contacts (addressbook) and other datas didn't get trnasferred into my new iPhone.

Instead, I saw very old messages and photos being transferred automatically. What's going on? Could you please help me how to restore my up-to-date datas to my new iPhone?
