Also, trying to enable TRIM manually did NOT work (I already tried) as the drive is recognized as an Apple Drive and the TRIM enablers specify NON APPLE drives only.

well, I don't know how trim enabler disables trim. two more questions:

    1) did trim enabler run at all and if so what exactly it tells when you tried to enable trim?

    2) did you disabled trim (revert or how it is called there) in trim enabler after you tried to enable it?

It's a Toshiba drive with Apple branding on it.

all of them are, so its normal

    I see 3 cases:

    1) not updated pre-boot parts of system - if so it will recover with Disk Utility repair

    2) trim enabler irrecoverably disabled trim in kext (small probability) - if so it will re-enable itself on next major system update or reinstall

    3) Apple SSD with early firmware edition without trim support. I don't know if there were ones, but it can be. If so - there should be firmware update for them at Apple site (good case) - or SSD firmware update was integrated in iMac firmware update (bad case)

no need to repartition. DU on whole drive will re-write everything if needed.

Hey, it works and its fast, yes? so just periodically give it possibility to do nothing hour or two for garbage collect do its deeds. Not a catastrophic thing.

Every time you get something somewhere in world appears something better, so what? Next years ssd again will be better than this year best ones, thats a life.

it works, fast and reliable - as well as yours MBP now - so go be happy
