Q: Change username?

I've reported your post again, it may have been lost in the shuffle somewhere.

As we are all users just like you, all we can do is report your request to the hosts; they make the decisions (and do not share their process with us). Since your request has already been submitted, there is nothing more one can do except you could send a direct email to the email address in the ToU (section 1, para. 13):

What exactly happens when you alert the host?

I have the same problem as many apparently: I wasn't given the choice for my ursname, there weren't other options nor they let me pick what I wanted. This was the only one I could use.

If it works, could someone please alert the host for me? Thank you.

When a user has the privilege to report posts (level 2 I believe), s/he can report someone's post - for instance, in this case, I would report a user name issue with something like "user would like to change his/her name". I then click on 'report' and that is it. What happens after that, no one here knows except that the hosts do read the reports. Other than that, they decide what, if anything, should be done and if they agree that your name should be changed, they would contact you via your registered email address. Unless it is a serious security or privacy issue,  it may sometimes take some time since they are quite busy trying to keep forums running smoothly which have 3+ million users.  I'll report your post.

FWIW, from what I remember, the name that populates the field is a suggestion which can be changed while on that screen - but maybe the process has changed since.

If you could add *details* of any ActionFlow that results in your NOT being given the "Field" to enter your chosen UserName, it will help fix the clearly broken process for some folks only.

FWIW, double posting is rarely helpful (or, at least, it would be helpful to link to your own thread) as it becomes too confusing as to who said what where.

In all fairness, even the Hosts have things 'slip through the cracks' - rarely, it takes a second reminder and the only way we would know is for the poster to tell us there has been no action. (Posting a New Question is what any normal, proactive person would likely do - I certainly wouldn't tack my issue onto anyone's previous Question)

Apparently I have to do the same-  Can you let me know how to humbly contact the hosts to get my user name changed ?  I'm serious,  how do I contact the hosts.  This is like the wizard of oz,  what curtain are they hiding behind ?

Seems to be a hot topic - and I'm having the same problem. Apparently the took the real names from older apple IDs and just made that into usernames. Want to change my username into an actual username now and I can't find a way to do so but responding here.

So ...

Can anybody please acknowledge a host that I'm having a problem with a username stating my actual name?
