Starting a new project in FCP X and I'm a little confused about frame rates and resolution.
What should my frame rate be?
> If my project is ending up on the web (YouTube for example)?
> If my project is ending up as a DVD?
Should I leave the resolution to the highest based on my material? In other words, if I have 1920 x 1080, just leave it at that or change it?

Your project should be whatever you're editing, what your media is, not where you're going.

So if I'm shooting 24p, 1920 x 1080, set the project up that way - regardless of where it ends up.
When I export to YouTube, will it end up that way, or does it change the size and frame rate?
Same with exporting as QT file, it will be 24p, even though a DVD on TV is 29.97?

It will upload at that specification. YouTube delivers multiple formats depending on the recciver's bandwidth.
DVD's can be 24fps. The set-top box adds the pulldown to playback at 29.97.
Not do set the project specification. Use your first video clip to set the specs.
You don't say where this media comes from but you should be aware that most cameras do not shoot 24fps, but 23.976.
Project Setup Confusion
