The earphone socket of my iphone 5 is broken

Something inside my earphone socket of my iphone 5 is broken. I know this cause first I thought my earphones are broken so I went to Apple store and they took my earphones and tried it with another iphone and it worked just fine. but on the other hand, when they tried using other headphones with my iphones, the sounds was severely cracked. I wonder if this is hardware problem and I should have it replaced? or Can i fix it by myself?
