WI-FI super slow, but connection seems good
I've done a lot of reading the last few days on this and it could possibly related to Mountain Lion, but here goes.
I just picked up the new Dual Core i5 Mac Mini. Stock RAM 4GB running 10.8.2
I set it up at work where they have better WIFI and did a bunch of updates, transfered files and such from my old Mac to new. I didn't use the miigration assistant - I wanted to start fresh. Everything worked flawlessly at work. However when I set it up at home, the WIFI has only really worked briefly, a handful of times where I had enough speed to load pages. I am able to receive regular email, but web pages take minutes to load - if they load at all. Most of the time I have 3-4 bars so reception seems good. The most curious thing to me is that I can be sitting right in front of the Mac Mini with my iPod Touch 3rd Gen and have great speed on my internet with the iPod.
I ran the network diagnostics and that all checked out. It sees there is an internet connection present, but the speed is unbearably slow. It's not even usable. I can't get the computer to do simple things like log into the iTunes store and such. Everything seems to time out.
Any ideas?
thanks!
