I am running out of space so my phone wont back up, how do i see what is saved on there so I can go through and delete to create more space?

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM

I did what you sugessted and deleted my backup and by that i got the capacity of 5 gig to be free again, however...... when i am trying to do back up again it says :

"NOT ENOUGH STARAGE, this iphone cannot be backedup because there is not enough icloud storage available. you can manage your storage in settings"

what shall i do?!!

i want to back up my iphone using the icloud and not using my computer!

Just curious, how many photos and videos do you have in Camera Roll. Check Settings/General/Usage for what is taking up all the space. Music, Video and apps are not in the iPhone backup. App data however is, so if you use video and video editing apps their data can use up space. Photos synced from computers are not in the backup however photos and video in the Camera Roll are and can consume storage space.

So, with 5GBs of photos in Photo Roll you have no more room to backup the rest of the the data in the iPhones backup. Camera Roll should be considered a temporary place to store your photos. You should copy the photos back to the computer where they should be stored and organized in a photo library such as iPhoto on a Mac. The computer should also have a backup using an external USB drive to prevent loss of your irreplaceable files on the computer. Once stored and organize on the computer the photos can be deleted for the iPhone and a copy of your favorites synced back through iTunes. Camera Roll should be used to store your new photos only which should be "developed" just like the days of film. Copy them out of Camera Roll as soon as possible into a main photo library on the computer.
